One of the five men shot by two South African soldiers, Mhokozisi ‘Skoko’ Shabangu (27), was buried in Mpumalanga yesterday.

The two soldiers have since appeared at the Hartebeeskop Magistrate court on Tuesday.

Circumstances Sorrounding the case are that in the early hours of 26 December,  the five men were found by police at a tavern,  when they were supposed to be at home because of the curfew.

Police went away and a few minutes later,  soldiers came and started shooting,  beating up people and overturning cars.

Family members told the daily sun newspaper that the SANDF did not even contribute to the funeral.

One of the five men was paralyzed in both legs from the shooting,  while the condition of the other three could not he established.
