The chairperson of the State Capture Inquiry Commission Justice Raymond Zondo yesterday dismissed the recusal application filed by former President Jacob Zuma.
Zuma wanted Zondo to recuse himself citing bias. Shortly after Zondo made the ruling, Zuma and his team then walked out of the Inquiry without permission.
The deputy Chief Justice said Zuma failed to prove bias. Rehana Khan Parker who is the director of RKP attorneys said Zuma’s actions were illegal.
She added that the former President will try using all tricks in his book to delay the Commission’s process. She also said those who appear in court or an place equivalent must be excused by the chair.
Rehana also said the chairperson must act swiftly and decisively to deal with Jacob Zuma and his team in the interest of justice.
