Jerusalema song featuring Master KG and Nomcebo Zikode has made it globally putting these two artists and Mzansi as a whole on a global stage.
Janet Jackson and Christiano Ronaldo have also shown appreciation of Jerusalema. The question remains as to whose song it is and who deserves the recognition.
Fans have been going back and fourth on this until Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo decided to tell the world his own thoughts about the song.
He uploaded a video on Instagram congratulating Master KG. He said it was God’s will to lift up the Limpopo born artist through Jerusalema.
Somizi also mentioned that Master KG has always given Nomcebo credit whenever he is given recognition.
He added that like many other songs before Master KG mixes the beat while the other artist is doing the vocals thus there must be no difference now with. Jerusalema.
He said Black Coffee and Dj Tira do the same and no one mentions the vocalist because it’s their song not the vocalist’ song.
Nomcebo herself has never tried to claim the song meaning she understands the role she played. Master KG commented on the post thanking Somizi.
