A Venda born singer Vhudie was an Idols SA season 16 hopeful. He sang his song that he wrote and composed titled ‘My Yoki Yoki’.

Mzansi fell in love with the song which was accompanied by his guitar. The judges also felt the same way thus they asked him to play the song again while they sing along.

The performance got him a golden ticket which took him to theatre week. His luck ran out and he was eliminated during the group stages.

After his elimination many asked Vhudie to release ‘My Yoki Yoki’ as a single. Motivated by people’s requests, Vhudie started working on the song.

Fans discouraged him from releasing the song on the 11th of September 2020 because Cassper Nyovest was releasing his album. Vhudie went ahead and released the song today the 11th of September.

The song received mixed reactions with some fans loving it. However most of his fans are not happy as they felt the new single is different from the version they wanted. Fans wanted the version they fell in love with on Idols SA.
