Former Uzalo actress Nokuthula Mabika has spoken out on an accident that left an 18 year old boy Sanele Maphalala permanently paralysed and mentally disturbed.

Nokuthula who played Thobile on the SABC 1 series uZalo said she had lived in constant fear as there were people who threatened to harm her since the accident happened on August 24 last year.

The actress revealed in an interview that she has come to realise that peace would not help her since her name was being dragged by false reports of what happened on the day of the accident.

Nokuthula added that she kept quiet because she wanted peace. She denied reports that she was heavily drunk when the accident happened.

She said the accident happened at around 6 whilst she was on her way from Pinetown after collecting the car from the services. Nokuthula revealed that she found out that the boy was on drugs from his friends.

The actress accused Sanele’s family of tarnishing her name by constantly lying about what really happened. She also denied that she was traveling with Nelisa Mchunu and Simphiwe Majozi who play Fikile and Sbue on uZalo respectively.
