Menzi Ngubane’s Family Released A Statement Denying ‘Critically ill’ Reports As Inaccurate Rumours’

The family of Menzi Ngubane has finally released a statement following reports that the actor has been hospitalised and was critically ill due to complications related to his previous surgery.

Panicked South Africans started the #PrayForMenziNgubane which is currently trending on Twitter. The family said they were aware of the ‘inaccurate and unverified news’ and ‘unwarranted social media panic’. The statement reads:

“We understand their concerns and support for Menzi, but as the family we appeal to South Africans to refrain from spreading news that has not been verified and confirmed by the family.”

“To this end, we wish to continue as the family to offer him the support he needs following his recent visit to the Doctors. It is exaggerated by newspapers and social media users,” the statement continued.

“I would like to confirm that my husband is receiving family support and recuperating after doctors were concerned about his health,” said Menzi’s wife Sikie Ngubane.

The family appealed to South Africans to respect Menzi’s Doctor – patient confidentiality. They also thanked all South Africans for their prayers.
