Songstress Zanele ‘Mazet’ Maseko died at the young age of 36. She was the lead singer of the multi award winning Afro Pop music group Mina Nawe.

Her sudden death was confirmed by her music group via social media. The group took to Twitter to announce Mazet’s death. They wrote,

“It is with shattered hearts to announce that we’ve lost a big part of who we are as a band and family. Our songstress Zanele’Mazet’ Maseko passed away . We humbly ask for your support during this difficult time as we hold hands with her family, friends and colleagues”.

The group Mina Nawe became popular in the early 2000s. They produced hit singles, “Where I Wanna Be”, “Kuse Kuse” and “Njalo”. The group also won several awards for their contribution to the music industry.

Fans sent tributes and condolences to her family for their loss of the talented singer. Nkosinathi ‘Carlo’ Mpanza and Candid ‘Manchild’ Shaw formed the band with Mazet in 2000.
