Popular South African musician DJ Black Coffee has managed to raise 90 thousand Rands through an online party to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Black Coffee streamed his performance live from 9pm on Saturday to raise funds for the Solidarity Fund in South Africa.

The Solidarity Fund was created to mobilise and coordinate funds from South Africans and the world at large. The funds will help to cushion the impact of the Covid-19 to the most vulnerable members of the community.

“Your immerse support helped us raise over 90, 000 ZAR last week towards @solidarityfundsa! Let’s aim to double it…we hope to keep the generosity and love going for Home Brewed 002!,” he wrote on his Instagram.

“For this week I’ve created a @gofundme page to help fundraise towards @coronacaresa who is assisting in keeping a wide spread of smaller organisations running that aid in bringing basic necessities like water and food to those in need in South Africa,” he added.
