Many have been wondering what happened to South African popular DJ Black Coffee’s hand.

Black Coffee whose real name is Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo recently turned 44 earlier this month. He got injured on the eleventh of February 1990 when Nelson Mandela was released from prison.

People were all over the streets celebrating Madiba’s freedom and Black Coffee was one of them.

Cars were hooting and speeding from all corners of the city in celebration. A speeding taxi hit his hand and left him paralysed.

Black Coffee began his career around 1994 and has since released five albums as well as a live DVD. He is also a songwriter, singer and record producer.

He became prominent after participating in the 2004 Redbull Music Academy held in CapeTown.
