Two bodyguards escorting businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe were arrested outside the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The men were found with unlicensed semi-automatic AKM rifles and ammunition.
The two bodyguards arrested were part of Molefe’s security detail, aged 24 and 36. They face charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. Authorities seized the two semi-automatic AKM rifles, ammunition, and their vehicle. The vehicle was also impounded due to inconsistencies between the license disc and the registration plates. The arrests occurred outside the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court, where Molefe was present for a centralisation hearing regarding multiple murder cases against him.
Katiso Molefe is a businessman from Sandton who is alleged to be involved in the underworld and is accused of orchestrating several contract killings. These include the 2022 murders of musician Oupa “DJ Sumbody” Sefoka and his two bodyguards, as well as the killing of engineer Armand Swart.
Molefe is currently on R400,000 bail and is charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and illegal possession of firearms. His case has been moved to the Johannesburg High Court, with the trial scheduled to commence in February 2026. Police are investigating the source of the seized weapons, the vehicle’s status, and the bodyguards’ specific roles.
