A 22-year-old woman from Kremetart in Giyani, Limpopo, has been arrested in connection with the murder of her boyfriend in Midrand on Monday, 22 September 2025.
The victim, 31-year-old Xichavo Ntsanwisi from Mhinga outside Malamulele, who worked for the Greater Giyani Municipality, was found dead at Colnbrook Estate in Noordwyk, Midrand.
According to SAPS Midrand spokesperson, Sergeant M. Papama, police responded to a distress call at around 01:58. On arrival, officers discovered Ntsanwisi lying in the kitchen with multiple stab wounds. A blood-stained knife was found near his body.
His girlfriend, identified as Jo-Ann Ntokoto Mabasa, was found at the scene and allegedly confessed to stabbing him. Paramedics from Netcare Ambulance declared Ntsanwisi dead on the scene.
Mabasa was immediately arrested and detained at Midrand Police Station.
