Ndikhona Hlatika, the wife of gospel singer Xoliswa Kwinanana,,  has opened a case of GBV after 2 years after he reportedly spat on her face and assaulted her on various occassions.

Xolisa Kwinana, a Crown Gospel award-winning musician, has strongly denied these allegations, describing them as false and expressing his intention to investigate them further upon his return to South Africa.

In an earlier report, he claims that the bruises shown by his other wife were from an old car crash, not from abuse. The second allegations against Xolisa Kwinana centered on accusations of gender-based violence (GBV) and specifically physical abuse towards his other wife, Kwakhanya Gubevu Elihle (Fifi).

August 2020: Xolisa Kwinana and Kwakhanya Gubevu Elihle (“Fifi”) met for the first time, according to Kwinana’s own statement.

June 2021: The couple married in June 2021.

November 2023: Fifi posted images on her TikTok account (“Mrs Kay Kwininana”) showing injuries, which she later claimed were evidence of abuse. Kwinana publicly denied this, stating the images were from a car accident that occurred before they met.

Late May 2025: The gender-based violence allegations became public when Fifi posted about her experiences after the birth of their second child, though the specifics of the birth date are not provided.

These claims became public after Kwakhanya shared images on her TikTok and Facebook accounts showing her with a bruised and battered face, accompanied by posts describing a pattern of pain, betrayal, and a lack of support from family and the justice system. She stated that she had endured “pain after pain and betrayal after betrayal” and expressed frustration that “justice keeps failing us. Culprits walk freely while the victim suffers in silence”.
