South African media personality Pabi Moloi is currently embroiled in a highly publicized legal dispute involving her estranged partner Ruan Adams and her child’s alleged father, Christopher Jaftha.
In recent court papers, Adams has requested that Pabi and her son take a DNA test with himself. If the child is found to be his, Adams is requesting an order that he be granted for him to get parental rights.
Pabi Moloi and Ruan Adams have been in a contentious battle over the status of their relationship and the division of assets. Adams claims they were married in community of property and is demanding half of Moloi’s estate along with spousal maintenance. Pabi, however, denies they were ever legally married, stating their relationship was sexual and produced a child but without marriage.
Adams told the court that he believes that the child is Jaftha’s as he had a sexual relationship with Pabi at the same time.
The dispute has escalated with accusations flying, including claims that Moloi bribed Adams’ lawyer to delay their divorce proceedings—a charge that has led to the lawyer withdrawing from the case and plans for a criminal case against Adams for alleged threats and harassment.
