Sibongile Mani who was found guilty of misusing NSFAS’s R14 million was elected as treasurer of the Walter Sisulu University convocation committee.
Mani was sentenced to 5 years in prison after she was found guilty of stealing R818 000 designated for disadvantaged University students.
Mani was a Finance and Accounting student at Walter Sisulu University before she was arrested. She received R14 million of National Student Financial Aid Scheme funds instead of R1.400.
The money was mistakenly deposited into her bank account in 2017. Instead of reporting the matter she went on a shopping spree.

She went back to university after her release and she won the election by a very big margin, details were shared by MDN NEWS on Twitter.
