SABC NEWS reported that former Ukhozi FM DJ Ngizwe Mchunu has opened a case of assault against KwaZuluNatal Premier Sihle Zikalala.
Mchunu claims that he was assaulted by the Premier at an Ingoma Musical festival held on Saturday in Durban. The incident allegedly happened at the VIP tent.
The Premier’s office told the media that Mchunu came into the VIP area and started hailing insults at Zikalala. The Premier has opened a case against Mchunu.
On the other hand Ngizwe Mchunu has his on side of the story. He told the media that he opened an assault case yesterday after being assaulted thus there are now two cases.
Ngizwe said he was called into the tent and as he kneeled in front of the Premier, he was hit by Zikalala in the presence of Nomagugu Simelane, the MEC of Health.
He added that the Premier was heavily intoxicated when he hit him. Ngizwe retaliated by hitting Zikalala aswell.
