Tributes are pouring in for multi-award winning gospel musician Deborah Fraser who passed away yesterday after a short illness.

The 56 year old picked up her career in 1985 as a backup singer. Chicco Twala who worked with Deborah Fraser has paid his tribute.

Chicco Twala was speaking on Newzroom Afrika,  he sent his condolences to the late gospel musician’s family.

Twala spoke on how Deborah contributed so much to the music industry. He said the industry would not be this great without her contributions.

He added that Brenda Fassie and Deborah Fraser were never disappointing and these two were the only people he really found easy to work with.

Chicco Twala mentioned that after working with Deborah as a backup singer, they came to a conclusion that her voice should be heard as a stand alone artist.

Deborah went on to have a successful career and she managed to sell over 2 million copies. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
