The daughter of former Economic Freedom Fighters Secretary General Godrich Gardee was found dead outside Mbombela on Tuesday last week.
The 28 year old Hillary Gardee had been shot from the back of her head. Three suspects were arrested in connection with the murder.
Sowetan reported that one of the alleged killers, Mkhatshwa went to consult with a Sangoma. He wanted to cleanse after news of the murder started spreading.
It was the Sangoma who then tipped off the police about the killer, leading to the arrest of Hillary Gardee’s accused killers.
The three men accused of kidnapping and killing Hillary Gardee are Sipho Lawrence Mkatshwa, Philemon Lukhele, and Mduduzi Gama. They are all under police custody.
