Former President Kgalema Motlanthe is in Mbombela, Mpumalanga where he is visiting the Gardee family following the murder of their daughter.
Hillary Gardee was found dead in a tree plantation outside Nelspruit on Tuesday after she went missing on Friday last week.
She had been shot from the back of her head. Motlanthe said the country should support the family through this difficult period.
The 28 year old was the daughter of former Economic Freedom Fighters Secretary General Godrich Gardee.
