Businessman and philanthropist Patrice Motsepe and AmaZulu King, Misuzulu KaZwelithini are visiting families affected by floods in KwaZuluNatal.
The Motsepe Foundation has donated R30 million to flood relief efforts in KwaZuluNatal. Motsepe was accompanied by his wife Dr. Precious Motsepe.
Dr. Precious said she will focus on the vulnerable and marginalised especially women and children. She said that the Foundation will ensure that there is a balance how the funds are distributed.
She added that funds for climate change disasters should be directed to affected areas like Durban and other parts of KwaZuluNatal.
Torrential rains which wrecked havoc across KwaZuluNatal caused floods and landslides leaving thousands affected.
Water pumps and electric poles were destroyed, roads and bridges were swept away leaving communities in dire need of basics.
