Government officials are in KwaZuluNatal Province where floods, left a trail of destruction.
The officials are counting the costs and weighing the interventions needed to assist those affected by the floods.
Unfortunately the death toll continues to rise, standing now at 395. Water tanks will be deployed to supply water in affected areas.
Main pipelines which supply water to Ethekwini Municipality were destroyed cutting off 25 percent of the water supply.
Power has also been affected as power lines were also not spared from the destruction.
Senzo Mchunu, who is the Minister of Water and Sanitation told media that the engineers were assessing the damage and after that the Ministry will then plan accordingly.
He said the whole water system needs rebuilding but his Ministry was going to put temporary water pipes so that people can get this basic need.
