Store Manager & Staff Held Hostage by Heavily Armed Robbers in KZN

Robbers are holding hostage staff and the manager at a store in KwaZuluNatal. The situation is unfolding in Sundumbili.

The store is believed to be a Boxer store and robbers got access to break into the store at around 5am.

Some of the staff members have been released but others are still inside. The special task force is meeting with other officers and later on with a hostage negotiator.

A police officer, Phumlani Vezi confirmed that three of the Boxer staff are still being held hostage and that there are four or five suspects in the building.

Vezi added that the robbers are after money which is in the shop. He also revealed that the suspects are heavily armed.
