ANC Women’s League President and former Minister of Social Development Bathabile Dlamini was found guilty of perjury last week.

The court revealed that she lied under oath at an inquiry into the social grants crisis. It has been revealed that judgement will be handed on the 1st of April.

According to South African laws a person who lies under oath or found guilty of perjury must spend atleast 5 years in prison or pay a hefty fine.

If found guilty Bathabile Dlamini will also have to step down as ANC Women’s League President.
