Riky Rick’s R60 000 Wax Statue Destroyed

A R60 000 statue of Riky Rick has been destroyed, this was after a Durban based sculpture Lungelo Gumede was threatened by the late musician’s family.

Lungelo made the statue in honour of the late hip-hop artist and fans would view it for free.

Riky Rick’s family condemned this move as they believed that the statue had been created during their healing process.

Reports said the sculpture was earning money from the statue even though viewing was free. Lungelo revealed that it cost him R60 000 to make the statue

He added that he made the statue out of love for Riky Rick and art. It took Lungelo Gumede one week to make the statue.
