In November 2025, reality TV star Kanya Mtsaka publicly claimed that Springbok rugby player Makazole Mapimpi pursued her with DMs and eWallet transfers, despite him being married.
Mtsaka, an entrepreneur and voice-over artist known for the Showmax series Born Into Fame, shared screenshots of alleged DMs with celebrity bloggers, claiming Mapimpi had sent her money and arranged to meet in person. She expressed feeling “deceived & hurt” that he was allegedly married with a new baby, stating she did not follow rugby or social media closely enough to know his marital status beforehand.
Mapimpi’s camp has denied the claims, with some reports indicating they described the situation as “malicious and defamatory accusations” and “false claims”. Some sources also reported that Mapimpi’s representatives denied he was a married man.
Mapimpi is reportedly married to Sasha de Sousa, an eSwati beauty, and they share a baby boy. Amid the circulating rumours, de Sousa shared several cryptic messages on her Instagram stories, including “Life goes on, y’all” and a “show up regardless” post, but did not directly address the allegations.
Some celebrity blogs that initially posted the story later issued retractions, stating the woman was “spreading false claims that were defamatory”.
