Limpopo rapper Shebeshxt (real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke) was granted R5,000 bail by the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, November 21, 2025, for his charges related to a road-rage incident.
He faces multiple charges, including several counts of attempted murder, possession of an illegal firearm, and malicious damage to property. The new charges related to the November 2025 road-rage shooting have been merged with older, pending cases.
His consolidated trial is scheduled to run from February 17 to 19, 2026, in the Lebowakgomo Regional Court.
Shebeshxt was arrested on November 12, 2025, in connection with a road-rage incident that occurred on October 19, in Ladanna, Polokwane, where he allegedly shot and seriously injured a 34-year-old motorist in the jaw.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, October 19, 2025, along Witklip Street in Ladanna, an area outside Polokwane. An argument ensued, over alleged bad driving, and both vehicles proceeded to a nearby petrol station.
At the petrol station, both Shebeshxt and the other motorist got out of their vehicles. According to witnesses, Shebeshxt allegedly responded rudely to the pair before pulling out a firearm and firing several shots in their direction.
One bullet struck the 34-year-old victim in the jaw, and he also sustained a wound to his stomach (solar plexus). He was rushed to a local hospital and has since been in critical condition, reportedly in the Intensive Care Unit.
The shots also damaged the window of a nearby Nissan vehicle belonging to a witness.
Shebeshxt allegedly fled the scene after the shooting. He later presented himself to the police with his lawyers and was released pending further investigation before a warrant for his arrest was issued on November 11.
Shebeshxt was officially arrested on the morning of Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his home in Bendor, Polokwane, during an intelligence-driven operation by the Provincial Investigation Unit and the Provincial Tracking Team.
Shebeshxt has pleaded not guilty and claims the shooting was in self-defense.
