Zenani Mandela Led the Exhumation of Zoleka Mandela’s Body

Zoleka Mandela was initially buried at the Mandela family burial site in Fourways before her body was exhumed and reburied at another burial site.

Her aunt Zenani Mandela came with police and forced the exhumation.

Zoleka’s wish was to be buried next to her grandmother Winnie Mandela, her mother Zindzi Mandela and her daughter Zenani Mandela.

Her other wish was for her aunt Zenani Mandela, cousin Mandla Mandela and many others on the list she wrote in her diary not to come to her funeral or near her body.

Zoleka was the granddaughter of struggle stalwarts Nelson Mandela and Winnie Mandela. She passed away on the 25th of September 2023 after a long battle with cancer.
