Former Joburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse Resigns as DA Councillor

The former Mayor of Johannesburg Mpho Phalatse has released a statement saying she will resign as a Councillor on the 30th of September 2023.

Phalatse was Mayor of Johannesburg from the 26th of October 2022 to the 26th of January 2023. She also contested for the leadership of the Democratic Alliance Party, she lost to John Steenhuisen.

She will however remain as a member of the Party, below is the statement.
