DA Leader Steenhuisen Not Happy That Jacob Zuma’s Prison Sentence Was Cancelled

The leader of the Democratic Alliance Party John Steenhuisen was left disappointed when former President Jacob Zuma’s Prison Sentence was cancelled today.

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Honourable Ronald Lamola granted Jacob Zuma a remission to his 15-months jail sentence of 2021.

Zuma was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment by the Constitutional Court for contempt of Court. He had failed to comply with the ruling compelling him to appear before State Capture of Inquiry Commission.

Lamola said that Zuma was one of the thousands of inmates who have benefitted from remissions of sentences as his department seeks to alleviate overcrowding in South African prisons.
