Mandla Maphumulo aka Mampintsha’s family has finally released a statement following his passing. Mampintsha passed away yesterday morning after suffering from a stroke.
Below is the official statement released by the Maphumulo and Simelane family.
“It is with profound sadness, we inform the public of the untimely passing of Mandla Maphumulo, fondly known to his fans as Mampintsha. Mandla passed away at Durdoc Hospital in Durban, South Africa, on Saturday the 24th of December 2022.
He passed away after having suffered a second stroke while under treatment in the hospital. He succumbed peacefully in the early hours of Christmas eve.
Mampintsha was one of the founding members of the legendary Award Winning trio Big Nuz, which includes Danger and the late great R- Mashesha.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and son, his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews.
The Maphumulo and Simelane families are eternally grateful for the gift of his life. We urge all those who loved him to celebrate this most remarkable man.
The family will release more details of the memorial and funeral services once these have been finalized.”
