Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse has tied the knot with ActionSA member Brutus Malada. Mpho belongs to the Democratic Alliance and ANC had tried to unseat her as Mayor of Johannesburg.
The union was seen as a coalition because of their political standings in the South African political space.
Pictures circulating on social media show Phalatse wearing a white wedding gown with the groom Malada wearing a suit, the two were holding hands.
Malada is a popular public figure who is a political strategist and a research consultant. Phalatse who was elected Mayor a year ago was dethroned by ANC’s Dada Morero.
She won her position back when the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg ruled in her favour. The court said her removal was invalid, unconstitutional and unlawful.
