South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a two day state visit.

His visit is at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

Ramaphosa will also be hosted by Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were formalised in 1994. Former Presidents, Nelson Mandela visited in 1998, Thabo Mbeki in 2007 and Jacob Zuma in 2016.

Ramaphosa’s visit will focus on export market opportunities for South African produce and on marketing the country as an investment destination.
