Trial of Alleged Unrest Instigator Ngizwe Mchunu Postponed

The state has asked for the postponement of the case against Ngizwe Mchunu citing the unavailability of the complaint, a police officer who is currently testifying in another court matter.

The matter against the radio personality has been postponed to the first week of December in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.

Mchunu faces charges of inciting violence during the unrest in July 2021 and contravening the Disaster Management Act.

The State is set to rely on CCTV footage and cellphone records to prove it’s case while the defense is saying their client is being prejudiced.
