Former President Jacob Zuma, said he is relieved to be a free man again. His 15 months prison term ended today.
Zuma thanked all those who supported him during this difficult period.
The former head of state was sentenced in June last year, after ignoring a Constitutional Court order compelling him to participate in the State Capture of Inquiry.
He handed himself to the police on the 7th of July last year. His arrest led to a wide scale of looting and destruction.
Zuma was later released on medical parole in September 2021. In December, the High Court set aside the ruling and ordered him to return to jail.
He appealed the ruling and has been on parole pending the appeal’s outcome. The news was reported by eNCA NEWS.
