Over 2000 cases of kidnappings have been reported so far in South Africa in first 6 months of 2022.

Western Cape Province being one of the most affected with over 400 kidnappings reported.

Other Provinces where kidnapping is rampant include KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng Provinces.

News24 shared a video of a woman being kidnapped in broad daylight in a street in Cape Town.

Two cars approached her car, one from behind and the other one in front. She was forced into the kidnapper’s vehicle before they fled the scene.
