The Pretoria High Court has ruled that Malesela Teffo is no longer an advocate.

Teffo’s name has been struck off the roll by the High Court in Pretoria for improper  conduct and the theft of clients’ money.

The court says Teffo had no regard for the justice system and was not a fit and proper person to continue practicing as an advocate.

The legal practitioner’s council received 22 complaints including assult, theft and corruption.

It prompted a legal application to suspend or strike Teffo’s name off the role of legal practitioners.

Teffo was representing four of the five accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial before withdrawing from the case in July.

He has been stripped of his powers to give legal advice as a legal practitioner.
