As divisions continue within the Congress of the People (COPE), Party leader Mosiuoa Lekota briefed the media on the latest developments that preceded his suspension.

A scuffle interrupted the briefing with the party members exchanging fists with one another. The party leader was left shocked with the incident.

Aggrieved members arrived at the briefing in Boksburg demanding Lekota not to deliver his address.

Acting Secretary General Mxolisi Ntombela told the media that Lekota and his supporters are factionalists and not real members of the Party.
