Limpopo MEC for Health Dr Phophi Ramathuba has come under fire following her encounter with a Zimbabwean patient in a hospital in Bela-Bela, Limpopo Province.

In a video that has been circulating on social media, the MEC told the patient that the influx of her countrymen was burdening the South African health system.

The MEC added that Limpopo is a rural Province that was facing challenges in terms of having adequate resources to cater for its close to 6 million people.

A lot of people in South Africa have been supporting what the MEC said but some are not in support of her actions which were directed to a patient.

While responding to the video, Dr. Phophi Ramathuba told the media that she was not regretting what she said.

Ramathuba said it is her duty to see that the people of Limpopo get all the required health services. The news was reported by eNCA NEWS.
