King Misuzulu KaZwelithini today entered the Kraal in a traditional ceremony called “ukungena esibayeni”.
This is part of the King’s coronation in accordance to Zulu traditional customs.
The ceremony is being held at the KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace.
The Zulu Traditional Prime Minister Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi attended the ceremony.
Prince Mbonisi Zulu, the brother to late King Goodwill Zwelithini has been leading a faction to stop the coronation of Prince Misuzulu.
Queen Sibongile Zulu, late King Goodwill Zwelithini’s first wife and her two daughters have been to court to fight Misuzulu’s recognition as King.
Prince Simakade Zulu has been contending to be the King and has been receiving support from some members of the royal family.
King Misuzulu KaZwelithini is the recognised leader of the Zulu nation. President Cyril Ramaphosa gave his recognition a few months ago.
