Thembisa Shutdown: Burning, Traffic Blocked During Protests

Commuters in Thembisa, Johannesburg were left stranded after traffic was blocked during the shutdown in that area.

Roads were blocked with burning tires and debris forcing residents to walk for kilometres to attend work and school.

Residents raised several grievances that include the high cost of living and fuel price increases.

They said there is lack of service delivery in the area and electricity was a luxury for the few.
