ENCA NEWS reported that President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala Farm in Limpopo was not under the police protection when millions of dollars were stolen from the farm two years ago.

This was revealed by Police Minister Bheki Cele in Parliament. However Cele did not say why the property was not guarded as one of the President’s residences.

The President’s property is entitled to protection according to the President’s hand book.

The robbery took place in February 2020 and the property was then put under protection later that year.

Thus the security breach was not reported in the police’s annual report for that year. A sum of atleast 4 million dollars stashed in mattresses was stolen.

Ramaphosa denied allegations that it was the tax-payers’ money. He said the money was proceeds from animals he sold at the farm.
