SABC NEWS reported that Economic Freedom Fighters Member of Parliament Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi contended that his rights to dignity and mourning were fundamentally violated.

He said Colonel Johannes Venter violated his rights when he was denied entry into the Fourways Memorial Park in April 2018.

The Memorial Park is a site in which the late Winnie Madikizela Mandela was to be laid to rest.

There was an altercation between Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, Julius Malema and Johannes Venter at the service.

Ndlozi took the stand at the Randburg Magistrates court for the first time to explain his version of events.

He did not deny pushing Venter however he said the complainant was in violation of the law when he blocked their vehicle from entering into the cemetery.

The pair pleaded not guilty saying they acted in defence. The case has since been postponed to September.
