South Africa is reeling from Stage 6 load shedding that has been implemented by Eskom. President Cyril Ramaphosa has finally weighed in on the issue.

The President said he regrets that Eskom had to resort to Stage Six rolling blackouts. The President told SABC NEWS shortly after the 7th SACU summit in Gaborone, Botswana.

He said there is a combination of problems that lead to prolonged power cuts such as breakdowns at power stations, vandalism and more.

Ramaphosa added that the Minister briefed him, and the Eskom executives also briefed him, thus when he arrives back in South Africa they will determine what action needs to be taken.
