ENCA NEWS reported that chemical poisoning caused the passing of 21 youngsters at Enyobeni Tavern, in Scenery Park, East London in the Eastern Cape.
The country is still reeling from Sunday’s incident while parents and loved ones are still in grieving. This conclusion came after investigations by the pathologists.
The pathologists revealed that all the deceased died from inhaling a similar poison.
There were reports that they might have inhaled gas or fumes from a generator found at the scene, but that has all been ruled out by investigators.
A stampede has been ruled out aswell as the cause of deaths since the deceased had no broken bones or major injuries.
Earlier reports had suggested that the deceased died from a stampede. The toxicology results will be released in two weeks.
These will determine the kind of toxins or toxic substances that might have led to the unfortunate incident.
