ENCA NEWS reported that the wearing of masks is no longer mandatory, the government of South Africa has announced.

However the Health Minister Joe Phaahla advised those with chronic diseases to continue using them for safety.

He said the decision to cancel most of the Covid-19 regulations was motivated by a really significant drop in Covid-19 cases.

Another Covid-19 regulation that has been done away with was the limitation of people or gatherings at events.
