Sunday World newspaper reported that President Cyril Ramaphosa is going to cash in on more foreign currency at his Phala Phala Farm which is currently embroiled in a theft scandal.

The President is actioning his Ankole cows next Saturday at the farm. The President of the Ankole Cattle Breeders Association of South Africa, Jacques Malan confirmed news about the auction.

He told the publication that they will not be intimidated from hosting the national auction as this is not a Presidential auction but a private auction for Full Blood Genetics Ankole.

He added that they do not expect any political party to interfere with the auction. Over 15 associations of Ankole breeders will  meet on Phala Phala Farm, the hired venue for the auction.

Ramaphosa is currently embroiled in a political storm after it was revealed that a robbery took place at the farm in which cash in foreign currency was tolen in 2020.

The President said the money stolen was proceeds of a sale of animals however former spy boss Arthur Fraser made claims that criminals stole atleast $4million during the robbery.

Fraser filed a case against President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Rosebank Police station on allegations of money laundering, Kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
