Award-winning gospel musician Deborah Fraser passed away on the 15th of May 2022 after a long battle with sugar diabetes.

Her debut album Abanye Bayombona was a hit and she sold over a million copies of the album.

Deborah Fraser’s career started in the 1980s, she sang as a backup singer for Brenda Fassie, Rebecca Malope, Black Mambazo and many more.

Deborah Fraser got married to a Nigerian Pastor Sockey Okeke in 2007. The couple divorced a year later with Deborah revealing that she suffered abuse.

The singer died not in a private hospital but at a public hospital Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto.

Fans of the late singer suspect that her Nigerian husband took her riches and dissappeared.
