The Star reports that two South African ministers Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams and Khumbudzo Ntshavheni spent more than R5million in taxpayers money on hotel accommodation in the last three years.

The two ministers allegedly slept in top hotels on businesses not related to the government, paying more than R5million.

Ndabeni-Abrahams, her previous deputy in the communications portfolio Pinky Kekana, Ntshaveni and her deputy Philly Mapulane spent the money on private accommodation.

The findings are contained in the parliamentary written reply by acting director general of communications Nonkqubela Jordan Dyani.

In 2020, Ndabeni had to pay R1000 admission of guilt fine for contravening lockdown regulations imposed by the National Prosecuting Authority.

The reply revealed that the communication department spent more than R15million on accommodation and travelling.
