King Misuzulu KaZwelithini was declared by the courts and recognised by President Cyril Ramaphosa as the King of AmaZulu Nation.

Now he has the task to appoint the next Traditional Prime Minister of the Zulu nation. Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi is the current Prime minister to the Monarchy.

The duties of the Prime Minister vary from protecting the throne to providing wisdom regarding royal matters.

The King has a duty to appoint somebody whom he trusts to hold the position. He must be of royal blood.

Someone from the KwaDlamahlahla Palace (left-hand house) can be chosen and the King can also appoint one of his cousins.

This is someone from late King’s second wife bacause she is considered a non-heir-bearing queen.

In this case it is Queen Buhle KaMathe, Zwelithini’s second wife. The King must choose now to avoid chaos and leadership vaccum once  Buthelezi is gone.

Buthelezi was appointed by his cousin King Cyprian Bhekuzulu KaSolomon in 1954. And later by Cyprian’s son King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuzulu.
