Princess Thembi Zulu passed away on the 8th of April 2022. She was sister to the late Zulu Monarchy, King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuzulu.
She passed away in Newcastle after being ill for a few days. Her death was confirmed by the Zulu Traditional Prime Minister Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
The Princess opposed Prince Misuzulu KaZwelithini’s installation as King. She supported Misuzulu’s challenger, Prince Simakade Zulu.
In May 2021 she denied rumours that she poisoned the Zulu regent, Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu who was also the mother of Prince Misuzulu.

Thembi had called on several parallel meetings without Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu and Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi’s knowledge.
