South African woman have taken to social media to complain about the bolt e-hailing service over harassment, rude and unlicensed drivers.

Bolt was also heavily criticized for not responding to complaints.

Some of the complaints include:

  • Car that arrives to pick up does not match the one on the app.
  • Drivers arriving and then leaving without picking up the customer.
  • Bolt profile being sold online by the original drivers to strangers.
  • Drivers not picking up calls when customers forget items in the cars.

Gareth Taylor, Bolt Regional manager, said if violent or sexual offences are reported, the driver’s account is de-activated immediately.
